The fee for an individual session is $200 for 50 minutes. The fee for a couples session is $250 for 60 minutes.
I currently accept plans under Aetna, Optum, and Cigna for California residents seeking individual therapy. I am not currently paneled with insurance providers in Florida, but do offer telehealth sessions for Florida residents at my cash rate. For cash pay clients, I can provide a superbill if your insurance provider offers reimbursement. It is up to you to talk with your insurance provider about this type of coverage.

At this time, I only offer virtual sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to conduct video visits with patients. I find that this has actually made therapy much more accessible for people with limited time, who don’t want to commute through LA traffic for an appointment, or who live outside of LA. (I am available to work with anyone who resides in California or Florida).

I am currently registered as an Out of State Telehealth Provider in the state of Florida. This means that I can provide therapy sessions to Florida residents via telehealth only. I am not paneled with insurance providers in Florida, but I do still offer super bills for residents to submit to their insurance provider for reimbursement. In accordance with the Florida law, my provider registration number is TPSW3233 and more information about this can be found here: https://flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/
If you are a Florida resident interested in connecting with me for therapy, please reach out to schedule a consultation!

Telehealth is a wonderful and convenient way to experience therapy and can be just as effective as in person sessions. However, there are limitations with telehealth and I do not recommend it for people who pose a danger to themselves or others. If you are unsure if telehealth is right for you, please reach out for a consultation. I’m happy to provide referrals for in-person providers.

This all depends on your needs and goals! I strongly encourage starting with weekly support so we can establish a comfortable, trusting relationship. We will work collaboratively to decide how often and for how long you need to meet based on your needs, preferences, and availability.

I prioritize the confidentiality and privacy of every patient and adhere to the legal and ethical guidelines of my license requirements. My documentation and telehealth services are operated on a HIPAA compliant platform.
As a mandated reporter, there are exceptions to maintaining confidentiality: if you pose an immediate danger to yourself or others, I am legally obligated to take steps to ensure your safety or the safety of others. This may mean calling 911, supporting you with a voluntary hospitalization, and/or calling friends or family to get you to safety. In the event another person is in imminent danger, I am legally obligated to warn that person and contact authorities even if that means breaking your confidentiality. Finally, if there is a reasonable suspicion of child, elder, or dependent adult abuse, I am legally obligated report that to the appropriate authorities.

Please contact me via email or phone if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I require at least 24 hours advanced notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. No-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time will be charged my full cash rate for the session.
If at all possible, I want to avoid charging you for a service you didn’t receive. Since life happens and sometimes we need to reschedule within a day, I will do my best to work with you to reschedule you for the same week. If I can accommodate this, I will not charge you the cancellation fee.

I am available M-F via phone and email at 424-434-8646 or madelineelialcsw@gmail.com. I do my best to respond within 24 hours on weekdays, but try to practice what I preach and do not check email/phone on the weekends! If you need immediate support and I am not available please see below “what should I do if I am in crisis?”
