The fee for an individual session is $200 for 50 minutes. The fee for a couples session is $250 for 50 minutes.
I currently accept plans under Aetna, Optum, and United Healthcare for California residents seeking individual therapy. I am not currently paneled with insurance providers in New York or Florida, but do offer telehealth sessions for NY and FL residents at my cash rate. For cash pay clients, I can provide a superbill if your insurance provider offers reimbursement. Please see below how you can get therapy sessions reimbursed if you are out-of-network.

If you live in New York, Florida, or are a California resident that has an insurance provider that is out-of-network with me, you may still be entitled to reimbursements for our sessions! Many insurance plans offer some form of reimbursement for out-of-network providers. You will want to check your insurance plan and see what percentage or dollar amount of a mental health session is reimbursed. I provide all cash pay clients a monthly superbill to submit to their insurance providers for reimbursement.
If you have more questions about this, please feel free to reach out!

At this time, I only offer virtual sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to conduct video visits with patients. I am available to work with anyone who resides in California, New York, or Florida.

I prioritize the confidentiality and privacy of every patient and adhere to the legal and ethical guidelines of my license requirements. My documentation and telehealth services are operated on a HIPAA compliant platform.
As a mandated reporter, there are exceptions to maintaining confidentiality: if you pose an immediate danger to yourself or others, I am legally obligated to take steps to ensure your safety or the safety of others. This may mean calling 911, supporting you with a voluntary hospitalization, and/or calling friends or family to get you to safety. In the event another person is in imminent danger, I am legally obligated to warn that person and contact authorities even if that means breaking your confidentiality. Finally, if there is a reasonable suspicion of child, elder, or dependent adult abuse, I am legally obligated report that to the appropriate authorities.

Please contact me via email or phone if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I require at least 24 hours advanced notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. No-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time will be charged my full cash rate for the session.
If at all possible, I want to avoid charging you for a service you didn’t receive. Since life happens and sometimes we need to reschedule within a day, I will do my best to work with you to reschedule you for the same week. If I can accommodate this, I will not charge you the cancellation fee.

I am available M-F via phone and email at 424-434-8646 or madelineelialcsw@gmail.com. I do my best to respond within 24 hours on weekdays, but try to practice what I preach and do not check email/phone on the weekends! If you need immediate support and I am not available please see below “what should I do if I am in crisis?”
