Hi, I’m Madeline
I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every person and do not utilize therapy as a way to “fix” people. The therapeutic space is meant to be collaborative, and it is my job to create a safe space so you can show up honestly and authentically! It truly is one of the greatest privileges to build relationships with my clients where they feel seen, held, and understood.
My practice supports people seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their patterns, and their purpose. While it is common for people to start therapy looking for “coping skills” or a quick fix, what we often need is to be witnessed. To slow down. To have a place where we can be ourselves without being judged or told what to do. When we focus less on trying to resolve the issues, we create an opportunity to expand our tolerance for what is. We can start to understand what lies beneath the symptoms, tend to our most vulnerable parts, and integrate these parts in a way that allows us to be our most authentic selves.
My Approach
My work with clients takes a systems approach, which takes into account the ways in which the systems we live in impact us on a community, family, individual, and spiritual level.
Some of the modalities I use include cognitive behavioral therapies, including exposure and response therapy (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I favor using mindfulness and somatic-based strategies, like somatic IFS, to help patients enhance their mind-body connection and develop a deeper understanding of their many “parts”. I welcome the exploration of spirituality into my sessions as well, and work with people of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds.
