Hi, I’m Madeline
I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every person and do not utilize therapy as a way to “fix” people. The therapeutic space is meant to be collaborative, and it is my job to create a safe space so you can show up honestly and authentically! It truly is one of the greatest privileges to build relationships with my clients where they feel seen, held, and understood.
My practice supports people seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their patterns, and their purpose. While it is common for people to start therapy looking for “coping skills” or a quick fix, what we often need is to be witnessed. To slow down. To have a place where we can be ourselves without being judged or told what to do. When we focus less on trying to resolve the issues, we create an opportunity to expand our tolerance for what is. We can start to understand what lies beneath the symptoms, tend to our most vulnerable parts, and integrate these parts in a way that allows us to be our most authentic selves.
My Approach
My work with clients blends cognitive-based therapies like CBT, ERP, and ACT with mindfulness and somatic-based therapies like somatic IFS (parts work). After nearly a decade of practice, I have come to appreciate both the art and science of therapy—emphasizing that there is no “one size fits all” treatment. Rather, the best therapy is relational, collaborative, and ever-evolving to meet you where you’re at.
That being said, I emphasize this blend of cognitive and somatic work because I have found that one without the other is often not enough. We can learn so much about ourselves from exploring the stories we tell ourselves, the beliefs we unconsciously hold, and thoughts that precede the pain of anxiety or hopelessness. But to only analyze and process verbally means we neglect to tend to how our bodies and our spirits are holding onto pain. True, integrative care tends to all of these parts—the mind, body, and spirit—and helps you not only integrate within yourself, but helps you better connect yourself to the world around you.
